ÔN TẬP KIẾN THỨC CẤU TRÚC USED TO TIẾNG ANH 9

Sử dụng “used to do” để nói về những thói quen hoặc những hành động thường làm trong quá khứ mà không còn ở hiện tại nữa.

Cấu trúc:

- Khằng định: S + used to + V-inf     

Ex: I used to ride a bike to school. (Tôi thường hay đi xe đạp đến trường ngày trước)

- Phủ định: S + didn’t use to + V-inf 

Ex: She didn’t use to drink milk when she was young. (Cô ấy không uống sữa khi còn trẻ)

- Nghi vấn: Did + S + use to + V-inf?           

Ex: Did he use to live here? (Ngày trước anh ta thường sống ở đây phải không?)

- Chú ý: “used to do something” được sử dụng để thể hiện hành động đã hoàn thành trong quá khứ cái mà không còn diễn ra ở hiện tại. Đây là cấu trúc chỉ được sử dụng trong thì quá khứ.

Ex: I used to get up early in the morning when I was a student. (But I don’t get up early now)

Exercise 1: Complete the senten ces with used to + a suitable verb.

1. Diane don't travel much now. She used to travel a lot, but she prefersto stay at home these days.

2. Liz .... a motorbike,but last year she sold it and bought a car.

3. We came to live in London a few years ago. We .... in Leeds.

4. I rarely eat ice-cream now, but I .... it when I was a child.

5. Jim .... my best friend, but we aren't good friend any longer.

6. It only takes me about 40 minutes to get to work now that the new roadis open. It .... more than an hour.
