The presence of tooth mobility is frequently observed as a typical consequence and potential exacerbating factor for periodontal disease. The successful handling of this issue significantly impacts the results of periodontal therapy. To ensure the effective clinical management of tooth mobility, it is imperative to possess a precisely evaluating tooth mobility indices. This article aims at different indices that are done and evaluates their respective constraints.

Short-Latency Crossed Inhibitory Responses in the Human Soleus Muscle2009 •
Even though interlimb coordination is critical in bipedal locomotion, the role of muscle afferent mediated feedback is unknown. The aim of this study was to establish if ipsilateral muscle generated afferent feedback can influence contralateral muscle activation patterns in the human lower limb and to elucidate the mechanisms involved. The effect of ipsilateral tibial nerve stimulation on contralateral soleus (cSOL) responses were quantified. Three interventions were investigated, 1) electrical stimulation applied to the tibial nerve at stimulation intensities from 0 to 100% of maximal M-wave (M-max) with the cSOL contracted from 5 to 15% of maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) and 15 to 30% MVC, 2) ispsilateral tibial nerve stimulation at 75% M-max prior to, during, and following the application of ischemia to the ipsilateral thigh. 3) Electrical stimulation applied to the ipsilateral sural (SuN) and medial plantar nerves at stimulation intensities from 1 to 3 times perceptual thres...

Epidemiology of acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease in the intensive care unitTo describe the epidemiology of acute kidney injury, its relationship to chronic kidney disease, and the factors associated with its incidence. A cohort study and follow-up were conducted in an intensive care unit in Montevideo, Uruguay. We included patients admitted between November 2014 and October 2015 who were older than 15 years of age and who had at least two measurements of serum creatinine. We excluded patients who were hospitalized for less than 48 hours, patients who died at the time of hospitalization, and patients with chronic renal disease who were on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. There were no interventions. Acute kidney injury was defined according to the criteria set forth in Acute Kidney Injury Disease: Improving Global Outcomes, and chronic kidney disease was defined according to the Chronic Kidney Disease Work Group. We included 401 patients, 56.6% male, median age of 68 years (interquartile range (IQR) 51-79 years). The diagnosis at admission was severe se...

The plant is used traditionally as brain tonic in neuroprotection, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and decreasing oxidative stress. An attempt has been made to established impact of geographical variation on this plant collected from different regions by performing pharmacognostical and phytochemical screening. Under Pharmacognostical standardization we determined the macroscopical and microscopical characters such as transverse section of leaf, stomatal number, stomatal index, vein-islet number, powder microscopy and proximate analysis like ash values, extractive values, moisture content and lastly fluorescence analysis. The result showed that there are massive changes in pharmacognostical characters between plant collected from Sikkim and West Ben...
