Fluorescence Studies on the Blood Plasma Albumin Interaction with 4-HYDROXY-2-METHYLQUINOLINEBlood plasma albumin (bovine serum albumin, BSA) interaction with a biologically active reagent 4-hydroxy-2-methylquinoline (4H2MQ) has been studied using fluorescence spectroscopy methods (steady state, synchronous, excitation/emission matrix, 3D spectra). With the addition of 4H2MQ, no changes in the spectral characteristics of BSA (fluorescence emission intensity and λmax position) are observed; only the symmetry of the BSA emission spectrum is changed and the full width at half maximum is decreased. The analysis of synchronous and 3D fluorescence spectra showed the existence of three emitting species in this system, which could be a result of changes in the fluorescence and photochemical properties of 4H2MQ.

Issues of research ethics and clinical ethics in developing world, possible solution: a way forward2012 •
Research plays a pivotal role in the progress of inventions in medicines and medical technology. It is noticed that researchers from developing world or multinational companies are interested to conduct their research studies in developing countries, in doing so sometimes it is noticed that rather benefiting the participants it causes significant harm to the research study participants of developing countries. Ethical lapses in research can significantly harm human subjects. In research ethics the basic aim of ethics is distinguishing between right and wrong, to recognize the wrong doings and try to avoid them from harming research subjects in any research study whether that is done in developing country or developed country. It must follow the principle of non malefiecence or do no harm. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/bioethics.v3i3.12559 Bangladesh Journal of Bioethics 2012; 3(3):12-15

Background: Most nurse educators regard students who enter postgraduate studies as adult learners capable of self-direction and independent learner behaviour. Therefore, a mismatch between the nurse educator’s expectation of adult learners and actual adult learner conduct may result in disappointment and even frustration for both educator and learner.Purpose: This article is a report of a secondary analysis of data that were collected to explore the high-fidelity simulation learning experiences of a group of postgraduate nursing students. The secondary analysis was done to determine whether adult learners who bring professional knowledge and experience to a postgraduate learning environment displayed adult learner conduct as proposed by educational theorist Malcolm Knowles.Method: Using a qualitative descriptive research design, data were gathered from 18 postgraduate nursing students who participated in high-fidelity simulation in a nursing school at a higher education institution i...

Consumers’ perceptions towards counterfeits as well as the effect of consumers’ perceptions on consumer purchase behaviour remain unclear. On the other hand, the study of determinants of the consideration set has recently become attractive to researchers due to its importance in relation to the study of consumer choice processes. Nevertheless, few researchers have examined the influence of consumer perceptions of branded products on the formation of the consideration set. This thesis attempts an investigation of the determinants of the two crucial stages – consideration set and purchase intention – of the consumer choice process in the context of non-deceptive counterfeiting. The research adopted a combination of qualitative (focus group) and quantitative research (individual interview survey) and provides a detailed examination of consumers’ perceptions of both the counterfeit and original branded products studied, as well as their explanatory power on the selected consumer choice ...
