Protective Effect of Umbelliferone against Doxorubicin Induced Cardiotoxicity in Swiss Albino Rats2016 •
Doxorubicin (DOX) is widely used as chemotherapeutic agent. Usefulness of this agent is limited due to its cardiotoxic effects. The aim of this study was to investigate the curative effect of Umbelliferone (UMB) against Doxorubicin (DOX) induced cardiotoxicity in albino rats. Biomarkers like LDH, AST, ALT, ALP, CK, along with heart weight index, antioxidant enzymes, lipid profiles and histological examination were assessed to determine the cardiotoxicity effect. DOX alone (25mg/kg bw intraperitoneally three times per week for two weeks) administered group exhibited significant increase in LDH, AST, ALT, ALP, CK, FC, FFA and TG levels and decrease in Enzymatic and Non enzymatic antioxidants activities when compared to control group. Oral administration of Umbelliferone (UMB) (30mg/kg bw) treatment daily for two weeks along with DOX significantly attenuated the increased serum biomarkers, reduced hyperlipidemia and restored the tissue antioxidant activities when compared to DOX alone ...

Education reform in Chile has been a principal national objective since 1990, with a major concern being the improvement of the quality of public education, especially of poor children (Carlson, 2000). Teacher quality and teaching practice are central factors that greatly influence educational outcomes and the Chilean reform effort has included a programme to improve the

This paper describes the role of metal cutting process as integral part of manufacturing with application of MAM (metal additive manufacturing) techniques. Additive manufacturing is written explicit as main feature included in Industry 4.0 cycle. AM techniques lead to hybrid manufacturing techniques as well. This paper points that AM almost always is accompanied by supplementary conventional machining.

Imposter syndrome: Narrative review with recommendations2022 •
The impostor "syndrome" refers to the false internal belief that one's esteemed positions and achievements are not because of their own competencies, but because of some external factor or stroke of luck and this feeling makes people feel like frauds or "impostors." Imposter syndrome is also associated with anxiety, psychological distress, and depression. Moreover the COVID-19 Pandemic has led to an increase in feelings of imposter syndrome.47% of workers around the world reported feelings of imposter syndrome since 2020.

Spin-dependant tunneling to the surface states of titanium dioxide2020 •
Results of the simulation of spin-dependant tunneling of electrons to the surface states of the titanium dioxide, which are created by adsorbed organic impurities are performed. Tunneling transparency for sunlight generated electrons is calculated by the Phase function method. A ferromagnetic film is considered to be an injector of spin-dependent electrons to the titanium dioxide. It is shown that electron spin polarization at the surface states reaches 10–25 %. It can contribute to the spin enhanced catalysis peeling a surface from organic impurities.

Blood Transfusion in Children Aged 1-59 Months at Aguié District Hospital (Niger)Introduction: Blood transfusion is a common practice in paediatrics. According to the WHO, in 2022, up to 54% of transfusions in low-income countries were given to children under 5 years of age. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of transfusion in children aged between 2 and 59 months in the paediatric ward of the Aguié district hospital. Patients and method: This was a retrospective descriptive study from 1 January to 31 December 2022. All children aged 1 to 59 months hospitalised and transfused in the paediatric ward were included. Results: Of 5349 patients hospitalised, 1140 were transfused, i.e. a frequency of 21.31%. Females were predominant (50.70%), and the age group 13-24 months was the most represented (38.72%). The majority of patients were transfused on the first day (89.36%). The indications were dominated by severe anaemia associated with infectious diseases (59%) and nutritional diseases (20.92%). Severe malaria accounted for 99.83%. Red cell concentr...
