The book discusses the problem of the genesis of the Duchy of Pomerania and describes the process of its creation and the dynamics of transformations associated with it. The basis for the analysis became archaeological sources that may reflect the phenomenon of the centralisation of power. In the next step of the analysis, those archaeological sources were compared against the few written records that did survive. The starting point for the studies was the socio-political situation as reconstructed for the end of the 9th century and the first half of the 10th century. It has been indictated that gradual process of socio-economic and political changes in the area began in the period between the last decades of the 10th century to the mid-11th century. At that time most of the old strongholds disappeared and the rest survived became seats of a centralised power. The formation of a completely new organisation of the social space, together with cultural changes tha occured then, can be recognised as a manifestation of the creation of new systems of power, a new type of social organisation, and perhaps new systems of values. a manifestation of the creation of new systems of power, a new type of social organisation, and perhaps new systems of values. Thus, the process associated with the formation of statehood in Pomerania should be dated to the time of the crisis and the collapse of the of the monarchic power in Poland from the one side, and the dawn of the Viking Age, from the other. However, only in the 1170s, the Duchy of Pomerania experienced the final consolidation of the systemic solutions that were characteristic of an early medieval monarchic rule in the Latin Europe. By that time, Pomerania had been ruled by a local dynasty for several generations. The Duchy had its own Church organisation and stable territorial administration. The ideological basis of the government was – as everywhere else – Christianity. Dukes minted their own coin and adapted other western European models and solutions. This was expressed, for instance, in the appearance of court officials at that time, or depictions of the dukes on seals and the obverse of coins in which they were presented as sovereign rulers. Despite all of this, within a dozen or so years the Pomeranian state lost its independence to neighbouring powers – first to the Kingdom of Denmark and later to the Holy Roman Empire.

Blurring boundaries between science and technology is a new phenomenon especially in fields such as biotechnology. The present work shows the fate of biotech research papers on foreign patents produced during the last decade in Quilmes National University. It aims at recognizing the flow of scientific knowledge developed at a public university towards foreign companies and organizations as well as reflecting on its technological value, the role of technology transfer management, the institutional significance of technology transfer processes and the need to develop innovative public policies for solving structural failures caused by industrial underdevelopment. Waves can be measured in several ways. One way of measuring waves is by measuring the wave pressure at a certain depth using a pressure sensor and calculate the wave information from the pressure record. The EMS wave logger uses a Honeywell MLH 050 PGP 06A pressure sensor. The information is stored by the logger on a SD card. The software in the logger controls the sample durations (from 1 to 30 minutes) and the sample intervals (from 15 min to 3 hours). The sampling rate is fixed to 4 Hz. In this report software is presented to evaluate the data from the wavelogger
