Treatment-Related Late Adverse Events in Childhood Cancer Survivors of Mexico: A Cross-Sectional StudyLate adverse events (LAEs) are an important cause of illness and disability in childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) and increase the risk of mortality. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to describe the frequency and severity of treatment-related LAEs in Mexican CCSs. The study period was between September 2018 and April 2019. We tested a sample of 82 CCSs at the Hospital Infantil de México Federico Gómez. We considered an LAE to be any medical effect related to treatment after ending cancer therapy. All LAEs were classified according to severity (using the grades of Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events v.5.0), diagnosis and time of occurrence after treatment. The treatment-related LAE frequency was 11.0% (95% CI; 4.2–17.8%). A total of 11 LAEs were identified in nine patients. Slightly over half of the patients were male (54.9%). The most frequent diagnosis was acute lymphoblastic leukemia (45.1%). The body systems involved in LAEs were the endocrine (55.6%), neurolog...

Experimental Research on Excitation Condition and Performance of Airflow-Induced Acoustic Piezoelectric Generator2020 •
This paper aims to present a novel airflow-induced acoustic piezoelectric generator that can be used to solve the problem of insufficient power supply of modern intelligent fuzes. The sound waves induced by airflow are the key to power generation performance. It is proposed that an edge tone frequency equal to the acoustic mode frequency is a sufficient condition for evoked acoustic waves, and a design idea and scheme for a universal fuze power supply is provided. We establish the vibration model of the airflow-induced acoustic piezoelectric generator. According to the model, the experimental research on the power generation performance shows that the sound pressure frequency, vibration displacement frequency, and output voltage frequency are consistent. The model provides a design idea for a vibration sensor. At the flow rate of 100.8 m/s, the output power is 45.3 mW, which is much higher than the fuze power sources such as the magnetic backseat generator. Therefore, the airflow-in...

Transport Mechanisms and Dielectric Features of Mg-Doped ZnO Nanocrystals for Device Applications2022 •
Magnesium-doped zinc oxide “ZnO:Mg” nanocrystals (NCs) were fabricated using a sol gel method. The Mg concentration impact on the structural, morphological, electrical, and dielectric characteristics of ZnO:Mg NCs were inspected. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns display the hexagonal wurtzite structure without any additional phase. TEM images revealed the nanometric size of the particles with a spherical-like shape. The electrical conductivity of the ZnO NCs, thermally activated, was found to be dependent on the Mg content. The impedance spectra were represented via a corresponding circuit formed by a resistor and constant phase element (CPE). A non-Debye type relaxation was located through the analyses of the complex impedance. The conductivity diminished with the incorporation of the Mg element. The AC conductivity is reduced by raising the temperature. Its plot obeys the Arrhenius law demonstrating a single activation energy during the conduction process. The complex impedance hi...

A Study on Effect of Surface Treatments on the Shear Bond Strength between Composite Resin and Acrylic Resin Denture Teeth2011 •
Visible light-cured composite resins have become popular in prosthetic dentistry for the replacement of fractured/debonded denture teeth, making composite denture teeth on partial denture metal frameworks, esthetic modification of denture teeth to harmonize with the characteristics of adjacent natural teeth, remodelling of worn occlusal surfaces of posterior denture teeth etc. However, the researches published on the bond strength between VLC composite resins and acrylic resin denture teeth is very limited. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of five different methods of surface treatments on acrylic resin teeth on the shear bond strength between light activated composite resin and acrylic resin denture teeth. Ninety cylindrical sticks of acrylic resin with denture teeth mounted atop were prepared. Various treatments were done upon the acrylic resin teeth surfaces. The samples were divided into six groups, containing 15 samples each. Over all the treated and untre...

The Identification and Classification of Deployment Challenges Related to Electronic Health Records: A Review Article2016 •
This study investigated the influence of the degree of connectedness on the reliability of the estimated breeding values (EBVs). The focal trait in the study was the number of piglets born alive (NBA) from sows of the highly prolific Large White and Landrace sows. An analysis included total of 58,043 farrowing’s during the 2008–2020 period. BLUP procedure was used to estimate the breeding values for NBA for the three herds separately and after merging all three herds into one herd. The model for EBV estimation included the following fixed factors: parity, genotype, seasons, litter sire, herds, sow age at farrowing, weaning-conception interval, length of previous lactation, and the following random effects: common litter environment, permanent litter environment, and direct additive genetic effect of animal. Heritability values for NBA ranged from 0.048 to 0.097, depending on the data included in the analysis. The connectedness between herds was analysed using the connectedness ratin...
