Developing critical reading skills for first year students in English department, college of foreign languages, Vietnam national university, Hanoi

Statistics from figures 6 and 7 show that both teachers and students are aware of the importance of developing critical reading skill in the first year of college. Ranging from ‘important’ to ‘very important’, the teachers’ answers indicate their respect to and consciousness of the necessity of critical reading skills. 86% of the teachers and 32% of the students interviewed think that developing critical reading skills is very important.
