Once again multiwalled carbon nanotubes as a solid phase adsorbent were proposed for the on-line speciation and preconcentration of Cr. After reduction of the Cr(VI) to Cr(III) with hydroxylamine hydrochloride, total Cr concentration was determined as Cr(III). As a SPE sorbent, poly(N,N-dipropionitrile methacrylamide-co-divinylbenzene-co-2-acrylamido-2-methyl- 1-propanesulfonic acid) chelating resin was prepared and used for the Cr speciation.

Figures 2a–2f show micrographs of the CuPc-CNT/GCE precursor, where a clean surface is visible with CuPc particles evenly dispersed on the carbon nanotubes. It can be seen that most of the Pt nanoparticles are uniformly dispersed in the range of 3–6 nm on the CuPc-CNT/GCE support (Figures 2g–2l). After platinum deposition, aggregates (such as Pt-containing cluster compounds) appear on the CuPc-modified CNTs.

Conductive nanotubes of several nanometer diameters can be used as the tips of detecting electrodes of the scanning tunneling microscope (STM) or the atomic force microscope (AFM), where the precision will be dramatically enhanced.. Diamond is one of the most precious jewels as it is highly stable, hard, col- orless, transparent, and the refractive index is very high (n D ¼ 2.417).
