Heterogeneous rates of genome rearrangement contributed to the disparity of species richness in Ascomycota

tailieu.vn

In this study, we found that the rates of genome rear- rangements are highly heterogeneous among different lin- eages of fungal species and there is a positive correlation between the rates of genome rearrangement and species richness. Here, we provided solid lines of evidence to sup- port an important role of rates of genome rearrangement in promoting species richness.

Relation between soil salinity and species composition of halophytic plant communities: A baseline data inventory for wetland monitoring

tailieu.vn

Correlation analysis showed a negative relationship between species richness and salinity, i.e., the decrease of species richness with increasing salinity under natural conditions. Lymbery et al. (2003) reported similar results on the significance of the relations of species composition to soil salinity and plant species.

Insect Ecology - An Ecosystem Approach 2nd ed - Chapter 9

A number of studies have compared species richness between relatively homogeneous and heterogeneous environments (e.g., Cromartie 1975, Risch Root 1973, D. of the niche and permitting species richness to increase. Bond (1993) and Power et al. Such trophic cascades are commonly observed in aquatic ecosystems (Batzer et al. Hunter et al. Nakano et al. Communities are composed of the species occupying a site.

Grazing only increased plant species richness in the most productive site (wadi) (Figure 19.16d). In the high productivity wadi sites, how- ever, species richness continued to increase with grazing, most likely because of a reduction in light competition through removal of the palatable larger species.. 19.4.2 The effect of carnivores.

Plant diversity and local rainfall regime mediate soil ecosystem functions in tropical forests of north-east Bangladesh

Shrub abundance had no significant effects on six soil ecosystem functions in our study sites, but shrub species richness had a significant ( p <. Edwards et al., 2019 . Mukul et al., 2019 . Pires et al., 2018 . Nadrowski et al., 2010. A growing number of ecological studies have investigated the effects of species diversity and climatic factors on soil ecosystem functions in boreal, temperate and grassland ecosys- tems (see – Eisenhauer et al., 2018 .

Biomass and species richness of fish larvae were highest in the winter and summer. Key words: Fish larvae, biomass, species richness, sampling frequency, Northeastern Aegean Sea. salinity ppt) of the South Aegean Sea and lower temperatures (Zodiatis, 1994). deeper rocky coasts with a steep shelf in the north and sandy, shallow habitats in the south. In this study, community structure and temporal changes of fish larvae collected from Gökçeada Island have been studied.

Figure 16.3 The relationship between species richness and the number of individual organisms from two contrasting hypothetical communities. Figure 16.4 shows how species diversity (H) and equitability ( J ) of the grass species changed between 1856 and 1949. A range of the many equations that have been fitted to rank–abundance diagrams is shown in Figure 16.5..

Diversity analyses of nonmarine ostracods (Crustacea, Ostracoda) in streams and lakes in Turkey

tailieu.vn

Species diversity is defined as the number of both rare and common species in a community, and that includes species richness (number of species) and evenness (equitability of individuals among species) (Hamilton, 2005). Although species diversity displays fluctuation over a spatial scale, it is important for the conservation of biodiversity (Engen et al., 2008).

Diversity of bats in three selected forest types in Peninsular Malaysia

tailieu.vn

From this, a total of 396 individuals of bats from 33 species were recorded in primary forest, 608 individuals of bats from 31 species were recorded in secondary forest and 222 individuals of bats from 11 species were recorded in the urban forest. Species richness in the secondary forest is the highest (Dmn = 1.616) followed by the primary forest (Dmn = 1.257) and the urban forest (Dmn = 0.7383).

Temporal and spatial variation of phytoplankton metrics including species richness (S), Shannon diversity (H. species evenness (J) and Simpson diversity (D), in the DNR was showed in Fig. Results showed that there were significant differences in species richness between upper course sites and lower course sites (Fig. The mean values of species richness in dry and wet seasons were 37.7 and 30.5, respectively. The mean values of H’ index were 2.0 in dry and 2.3 in wet season.

Diversity of weed species composition of cyperaceae and poaceae in paddy rice field in An Giang province

tailieu.vn

This shows that although crop 1 has more species richness the species diversity and the equality between species in the weed community are lower in crop 1 than in crop 3.. The rice fields inside the ring dike have a higher species abundance (d = 4,598) than those outside the ring dike (d = 3,990), but the indicators H 'and 1 - λ' are lower, because species type and species equality in the weed community is lower in the ring dike..
